Live broadcast, February 9th, US men’s basketball today officially announced that Los Angeles Clippers coach Taren Lu joined the US men’s basketball coaching staff and Monty withdrew.
Grant Hill, general manager of US men’s basketball, said in a statement: “I am very happy to give this opportunity to coach Taren Lu. We hope to continue to succeed in the international arena, this team has accumulated decades of experience in NBA, University and international levels, and I look forward to seeing them lead the US team together.”
“I want to thank Coach Monty Williams for his contribution to American basketball. I fully understand the difficult choices he made. He is an important member of the American basketball family.” Hill said.
Lu said: “I am honored to represent our country and join this excellent coaching team. It has always been my dream to coach America men’s basketball. I will accept this challenge. Thanks to Steve, Grant and the leaders of the American Basketball Association for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to start.”
