Live broadcast, February 21st Billy McCombs is the former boss of the Spurs. His family announced in a statement today that he died at his home in San Antonio yesterday at the age of 95.
Spurs officials mourned the death of Billy McCombs, saying, “Today, we mourn with McCombs family. Billy McCombs is one of the most influential people in our city’s long history. Thank you for your brave commitment to our city and team and your unswerving love.”
Billy bought ABA’s Dallas jungle team McCombs in 1973. After that, the team moved to San Antonio and changed its name to Spurs. Billy sold the Spurs McCombs in 1993.
