Green Army famous Chris Ford died at the age of 74. He entered the first three points in NBA history.

Live broadcast on January 19 News NBA official statement, the Ford family sadly announced that Celtics celebrity Chris Ford died on January 17, 2023 local time, at the age of 74.

Ford’s career as a player (1972-1982) played for the piston (1972-1978) and Celtics (1978-1982) and helped Celtics win the NBA championship in 1981. He played 794 regular season games in his career, averaging 9.2 points 3.0 rebounds 3.4 assists 1.6 steals, with a three-point hit rate. The peak season averaged 15.4 points 3.4 rebounds 4.6 assists 1.4 steals. He is a versatile defender and is famous for his first three points in NBA history. (On October 12, 1979, in the Celtic home court 114-106 victory over the Rockets, Ford scored the first three-point goal in NBA history at 3 minutes 48 seconds in the first quarter. This game is also Larry Byrd’s NBA debut)

In 1982, Ford ended his career as a player and began to serve as a teaching assistant in Celtic in 1983. From 1990 to 1995, Ford was promoted to head coach, and then served as head coach in Bucks (1996-1998), Clippers (1998-2000) and 76 people (2003-2004) respectively. He taught his career in the regular season with 323 wins and 376 losses, 13 wins and 16 losses in the playoffs, and coach of NBA All-Star Eastern Star team in 1991.

Celtics celebrity Larry Byrd also mourned Ford: “As a teammate, coach and friend, Chris (Ford) is an important part of our success. My thoughts and condolences are with the Ford family.”
